Dentistry Initiatives for NS Immigrants Fund

Story

“The GAP clinic provides a unique experience that benefits everyone involved. I consider it an absolute privilege to welcome these patients to their new home and help them regain their smiles, confidence, and wellbeing.” Moe Alshateel, DDS’21

The Faculty of Dentistry is guided by a commitment to providing evidence-based, ethical oral health care — for everyone. We have a unique capacity to effect positive social change, one that begins with training future dentists to lead with integrity, competence and compassion.

Our Government Assisted Populations (GAP) Clinic, a community outreach initiative serving Nova Scotia’s immigrant and refugee populations, provides students with invaluable real-world experience. We owe students every opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and passions that motivate them, so that they become fierce advocates for the health and wellness of all people.

Every gift to the Faculty of Dentistry — no matter the size — will have a direct and lasting impact on students’ immediate needs and their long-term success and expand access to oral health care for vulnerable groups. Help dentistry students make the most of this formative time. Make a gift to the Dentistry Initiatives for Nova Scotia Immigrants fund today!
